Yes. His name is Mitchie and there is a story to go with his name.
When our CEO, Greg Cross, got the idea to launch a new company and product he gathered team members Ben Cross and Jessy Steele, grabbed a dry-erase marker and started white boarding possible brand names. The whiteboard on the right are some of the fruit of that discussion. During the brainstorming Jessy shouted out “What about Selfie Panda?” Then Greg said, “That’s good but what about Selfie Mouse?” Mouse eat cheese and when people take photos they say, “Say Cheese!” A product, brand name was born!
The next thing was to find out if the domain name selfiemouse.com was available. We hopped on to GoDaddy.com and sure enough it was available. We immediately bought it. After securing the domain name from GoDaddy, we checked to see if the social media profiles on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest were available. Say what? All four profile names were available. We snatched them up. To get a domain name and all of the major social media profile names that you want for your brand is pretty remarkable. In fact, in this dot.com world that we live in it is pretty rare.
The next step was to get to work in developing a logo that would represent the brand. Click here to see some of the logo options we considered. Greg knew that he wanted to hire a very talented graphic designer that he had met several years ago named Christian Elden, Christian was hired to design the current Selfie Mouse logo and he knocked it out of the park and delivered exactly what we wanted to represent the brand known as Selfie Mouse.
Now we had a mouse, but we needed to give him a name. Ben, the graphic designer for all of the Selfie Mouse photo props, said “I got an idea. How about Mitchie Mouse?” You see, Greg, our CEO, use to tell his three kids (Ben is Greg’s son) ‘Christopher Stories’ when they were little. Christopher was a fictitious character who went on amazing ventures with his three friends, Mitchie Mouse, Benjamin and Arthur. It fit perfectly.
So, yes the Selfie Mouse mouse has a name. His name is Mitchie.
